CSEC visits MNU

Civil and Structural Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (CSEC) meets with the Vice Chancellor and the top management of Maldives National University (MNU).

A high delegation of CSEC visits Maldives, including Prof. Priyan Mendis, Honorary Chair of CSEC, a world renowned Structural Engineer who has been a consultant for many prestigious and landmark projects across the globe including Burj Kalifa, the world’s tallest building. The team was also accompanied by the Managing Director of the company, Eng. Shiromal Fernando, who is one of the leading structural engineers in Sri Lanka, who has been the Principal Structural Engineer for many high-rise buildings including the tallest building in Sri Lanka, along with CSEC Director Bathiya Waduge.

CSEC is a state of the art consultancy firm comprising of some of the most prominent Structural Engineers in the industry and academia. CSEC is currently engaged in some of the key landmark projects in Sri Lanka (such as the iconic Lotus Tower) and overseas.

CSEC has extended their reach to Maldives by undertaking projects like Vakkaru Luxury Resort and Nasandhura. Signaling intention of long term association with the Maldives, they have formed a strategic partnership with one of the most dynamic local firms, 960 Consultants, a subsidiary of 960 Holdings.

The meeting was held to introduce CSEC to MNU and discuss the possibilities of providing assistance in developing the engineering curriculum and initiating new courses like Modular Construction. CSEC and 960 Consultants also discussed offering new modules and providing industrial training for undergraduate engineers towards completing their internship requirements. In addition to this, CSEC and 960 Consultants deliberated on engaging in bilateral research with CSEC and University of Melbourne and collaborate on joint publications with Maldivian academics.
